To Live In Christ – Growing In Daily Spirituality is a comprehensive lay spiritual formation program that responds to individuals seeking deeper, more meaningful relationship with Christ by opening their minds, sharing thoughts, expressing opinions, reviewing Gospel messages and applying “the way, the truth, and the life” in their cultural relationships. The program has been designed with built-in flexibility to service a variety of parish programs such as; Baptism preparation, Confirmation classes, supplement to Marriage preparation programs, cross-generational gatherings, parish religious education/retreat/mission programs, elementary/high school/college (Newman Club) religion programs, small Christian community gatherings, meditation days for Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors, Ushers, RCIA (neophytes in mystagogy), and parishioner Cornerstone weekends. The program is ideal for spiritual formation during training sessions for Catechists, Youth Ministers, Catholic School Teachers and CCD Instructors, and Sunday Liturgy Study Groups. This introduction to true Catholic spirituality, dedicated to growing in Christ, is accomplished by providing a setting for adult Catholics to gather together, learn together, and pray together, by helping participants grow in their faith, and by making available an opportunity for participants to deepen the integration of what they believe, who they are, and this how they live their lives daily. The available materials for use with this program are a facilitator’s guide, an individual participant’s booklet, and prayer card.
ELEMENTS Five subjects are available for review, discussion and meditation over a period of six gathering weeks at one and one-half hours per week: JESUS – Connect with the reality of who Jesus was and what he means for us so that we can come to know him not with our head but with our heart. DISCIPLESHIP – Embracing the gospel message of love and being a disciple of the Word is examined in light of your spiritual journey. PRAYER – Explore prayers from the early days of our lives, prayers that open minds and hearts, and prayers found in Sacred Scripture-as well as prayer practices and different forms of prayer. BAPTISM – Study the sacramental action that joins individuals into an intimate union with Jesus, our understanding of that union, how it also unites us with the church, and how it is foundational to our spiritual life as Christians. EUCHARIST – Study Eucharist as sacrifice, sacrament, and presence, providing us with deeper insights and a richer awareness of this Mystery.
